NATO’s 2018-2021 Strategic Plan identified diversity and inclusion as a key objective for the association.  In accordance with this aim, NATO formed the Diversity and Inclusion Committee in 2018.  The committee is focused on three key areas:  Expanding diversity within NATO’s volunteer leadership community; encouraging members to build a diverse workforce; and ensuring that product and service offerings are diverse. Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship

The Committee supported the creation of the 2019 Advisory Board Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship to build a pathway to participation in NATO, both at the committee level and in its leadership, for people who are currently underrepresented among the association’s volunteers, including women; younger executives; minorities; people with disabilities; and people who identify as lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender/queer+.  The scholarship was awarded to a select number of NATO members to cover travel and lodging expenses for attending the NATO Advisory Board meeting in Beverly Hills on 23-24 September 2019.  Click here to read about the 2019 scholarship winners.
