Film Group’s Digital
Screen Count Rises To 68 This Autumn
China Rolls Out 10 More DLPCs
SHANGHAI, China – Government-owned China Film Group
(CFG) announced in September plans to roll out 10 more 2K
Digital Light Processing Cinema (DLPC) systems, adding to
the existing 58 DLPC-equipped auditoria currently operating
throughout China.
Slated for delivery to Beijing in October, the new systems
are part of the organization’s overall plan to equip
China with 161 DLPC systems by the end of the year.
Due to a national screen quota, the Chinese government
only permits 20 foreign 35mm film releases per year, but
titles
released digitally allow an additional 10 to the tally.
According to CFG authorities, a number of digital releases,
including
Fox’s “I, Robot” have already been scheduled
into next year.
