NATO’S Website:
A Valuable Tool

by Belinda Judson
Executive Director, Mid-States NATO

While attending some meetings at ShoWest, I realized once again how much I learn every time I have an opportunity to network with my peers. (And I just thought I knew everything!) So it seems to make sense to me that we would all want to take advantage of being able to keep in contact throughout the year rather than just at meetings or industry conventions – and NATO has just the resource that will enable us to do this easily.

I know quite some time ago you all received a letter from Patrick Corcoran, NATO’s resident computer “guru,” informing you that NATO has a secure online Members’ Only section. Perhaps it is just a matter of habit and we are not used to having this at our disposal, but most members have not been making use of what could be a wonderful networking tool for everyone.

Did you know that all of the following member forums are available:

• Classifieds (job postings, equipment for sale, theatres for sale and so on).
• Independent Operators (a place for the little guy).
• International
• Marketing
• Operations
• Product (movies, trailers, windows and related topics).
• State and Regional Units
• The Ratings System
• General Forum (Everything else!)

What better way for NATO’s members to stay in touch and learn from one another? Many of you have important information or experiences to share with your fellow members. Or perhaps you have questions and would like to pick some brains on how certain situations can be handled. The more we all keep abreast of industry issues, the stronger it makes our association and, in turn, your business operations.

Please contact Patrick at the NATO website. I am sure he will be more than happy to give you a Member ID and password so you can begin to use this valuable resource.

I’ll look forward to chatting with you in the forums!!
