Pashtu-language docu-drama, set in Afghanistan during the rule of the Taliban, about a young girl who, after her mother loses her hospital job, poses as a boy in order to find work and save her family from starvation. Touching the Void
Documentary about British mountain climber Joe Simpson’s miraculous survival after a disastrous fall in the Peruvian Andes during a climb with partner Simon Yates. Based on Simpson’s 1998 autobiography. Directed by Kevin Macdonald (“One Day in September”). Featuring interviews with Simpson and Yates, as well as dramatic reenactments of the climb. Flat. 108 min. Romantic comedy about a famous young actor named Tad Hamilton who agrees to a “Win A Date With Tad Hamilton!!!” contest, only to find himself falling for the contest’s winner – a pretty bag-girl who works at a West Virginia Piggly Wiggly. Directed by Robert Luketic (“Legally Blonde”) from a screenplay by Vic Levin (TV’s “Mad About You”). Disney’s Teacher’s Pet
Animated comedy about a dog who is so passionate about education he impersonates a human child to attend school. Based on the 2000-2002 ABC TV series. Timothy Bjorklund, who directed the TV version, makes his feature directorial debut from a screenplay by series creators and veteran TV writers Bill Steinkellner (“Cheers”) and Cheri Steinkellner (“Hope & Gloria”).
